Today's Korea

Took the following photos while wandering the Incheon are of Seoul today. Actually got a day by the sea. After being away from the ocean since I arrived here a few months ago I forgot how nice it was to be near the open water again.

Spent

Been working like a mad bastard of late. Should only have to do this for a few more months at this pace before settling into a more regular schedule, with more regular financial circumstances. Just finished reading 'Bringing Out Your Dead' about a New York ambulance driver. That job appeals to me in a great many ways. The fact that I get lost going to the bathroom might kind of screw that up though. Haven't seen too many ambulances pull into a gas station to ask for directions. Would never work. Driving still appeals to me. There's work to do here in the meantime.
Last night I had a dream that I was looking at a long string of white flags waving in the winter wind on a mountain in Tibet somewhere. I hold a great deal of stock in the prophetic element of dreams.
I've come down with something this week. There's sick and then there's the kind of sick you get in Korea. Feels. Very. Deep. Nasty ass viruses in this part of the world.
Currently reading 'Eat, Pray, Love' by Elizabeth Gilbert. She is an incredible writer. Her experiences through a year in Italy, India, and Bali are wonderful to hear about. I don't share her guilt in many aspects of her experiences. She talks about eating really naughty Italian foods too early in the day like it requires a great deal of rationalization. Scarf it down, I say.
I shall be stopping by here http://shakespeareco.org/ for a short or long stay on my way through Europe as I head back to Canada.
I was talking with Korean guys recently about retirement and what everyone's plans were. They all had the standard replies; house in the country, visits with the grandkids, blah, blah. I said I planned to buy a sturdy 30 foot sailboat and stay as drunk and stoned as possible while bopping from warm water port to warm water port around the globe. I'll pop in to pick up cigars, beer, and dope and then hit the open seas again to rage at my demons, a la Captain Ahab. One guy suggested I make sure I'm well strapped to my vessel if I plan to be in that shape day and night on the open seas. We all laughed and ended the class on that note.

Seoul Moment

Stand the hell back.
