Scholarly Wisdom
Today I was remembering fondly a 'teacher' I had while training to get a top level driver's license. He was a grizzled old truck driver who made a small fortune driving before the industry was as closely regulated as it is now. In one driving circumstance he described we were advised how 'You don't know whether to shit or turn to page twenty-two.' There was another situation where he advised us to 'Twist your balls and grab a shovel.' He told us a joke that stuck with me... A guy walks into his kitchen where his wife is preparing dinner carrying a live sheep under his arm. Guy says, 'This is the pig I was having sex with behind your back.' Wife says, 'You idiot. That's a sheep not a pig.' Guy says to his wife, 'I wasn't talking to you.'

Puppy Paperwork

I walked a puppy named Jake for the animal shelter the other day. Jake gets a little aggressive with other dogs. I mentioned this to the woman who runs the shelter. She had me fill out a report on puppy Jake's aggressive behaviour. My first puppy report.
Hiked the first third of Joffre Lakes the other day. It gets a little back woods for my taste. Serious old growth forests. There is a glacier at the top if you make it that far. You have zero digi back that far so if you get a boo boo you can't just call for help to come in and vac you out. Supposed to go back with someone else with me on Monday and actually make it to the third lake. The lake has that blue-green colouring you see in the postcards of Banff.
Today I drove way back on this forestry road on the other side of Pemberton. Some of the most incredible country I have ever seen in my life back there. I saw a total of four black bears today. A mother and two cubs trying to cross the road just outside of downtown Pemberton (all three made it) and another almost full sized black bear on the forest road I was on. Took these photos today.
